Unique

Lori had this link on her blog. I tried Chief’s name and found he is the only one in the whole country.
Princess shares her name with six others. There are 284 KP’s in the US. I was sure it would be higher. We know one of them lives near Dayton, drives a race car […]

Princess sings

Princess got an ensemble part in the Kings Kids musical at church on November 12th. She tried out for a solo part. She sings very confidently at home but I wasn’t sure how she would do with a crowd of people staring at her. I think she’ll do well in the ensemble though.

This one is for Leigh

Leigh pointed out that its been a long time since I put anything up here. KP is preoccupied with AOL and I’ve been trying to make a point of staying away from the computer.
Last weekend we decided to go geocaching. We tried earlier in the summer but decided wading through waist high grass, slapping […]

teenager in the house

I forgot to post a Happy 13th Birthday to Chief yesterday. His birthday celebration started on Friday and lasted through Monday. Those are the kind of birthdays to have.
He had Celebration #1 on Friday in Lansing. Rick, Donna and Julie came over to join the festivities. Saturday Chief chose to sleep the day away…literally. […]

Congratulations to John & Sandi

Donna e-mailed this morning to say that Sandi’s ultrasound this morning showed they are expecting a little boy this time. I’m sure John can’t stop smiling today.
When I told Chief and Princess the news, Chief said sarcastically “he’s going to have a lot of fun growing up in a house with four sisters”.
The new […]

Down on the farm

Leaves rents space from a spiritual retreat center for women. I’m a little confused on the exact nature of the retreat center but suffice it to say its quite crunchy granola.
Anyway, the retreat center has gardens and some animals. The latest Leaves newsletter said the two resident sows gave birth to 22 piglets. The […]

Congratulations Lori

Lori won an autographed Advanced Reader’s Copy of Susan Wise Bauer’s book The History of the Ancient World. Because Lori is such a good friend I know she’ll let me come over and drool on the book. OK maybe not drool on it but admire it.

I love stuff like this but I lack the attention […]

Off the hook

I (Sly) thought I might have to work tonight but they apparently found someone else to take my place tonight. Yippee!! It will probably be October 13th before I see all the money they owe me.

I quit

I (Sly) quit my part time gig. I’ve been unhappy with it for some time. I am truly amazed that a Fortune 500 company can be so dysfunctional yet remain profitable. Oh I forgot. They remain profitable by underpaying their employees.
The last straw was money. The company should be ashamed at what they pay […]
