Down on the farm
Leaves rents space from a spiritual retreat center for women. I’m a little confused on the exact nature of the retreat center but suffice it to say its quite crunchy granola.
Anyway, the retreat center has gardens and some animals. The latest Leaves newsletter said the two resident sows gave birth to 22 piglets. The […]

Congratulations Lori
Lori won an autographed Advanced Reader’s Copy of Susan Wise Bauer’s book The History of the Ancient World. Because Lori is such a good friend I know she’ll let me come over and drool on the book. OK maybe not drool on it but admire it.
I love stuff like this but I lack the attention […]

Off the hook
I (Sly) thought I might have to work tonight but they apparently found someone else to take my place tonight. Yippee!! It will probably be October 13th before I see all the money they owe me.

I quit
I (Sly) quit my part time gig. I’ve been unhappy with it for some time. I am truly amazed that a Fortune 500 company can be so dysfunctional yet remain profitable. Oh I forgot. They remain profitable by underpaying their employees.
The last straw was money. The company should be ashamed at what they pay […]

Its been oh about four years since I was in charge of a nearly 2 year old. Keziah is completely enamored with Chief. He was sitting at the dining room table doing his math and […]

First Swimming Lessons
for Peanut today… and she really needs them. She loves to swim but hangs out at the edge of the pool usually. She knows pools are fun but seems to be allergic to water. So this year’s extra curricular is swim lessons at the Y.
Why did we wait so long? […]

Mom’s brain
Every Sunday night for the past couple years, I print out a week at a glance form from a homeschooling web site. I call it Mom’s Brain. I write down all the little bits and pieces that float around in my head. Putting it on paper means I don’t have to remember it anymore. Desiring […]
