Creation Museum Pics

I don’t think we noted it, but we want to see the creation museum in Northern Kentucky during their last open house before opening. It’s amazing what they’ve been able to do and what they will do.

Birthday Pics

One of the great things about the new blog upgrade is how easy it is to insert pictures from the Gallery. I know, you can’t see it from your end, but trust me, on the admin side, it’s a couple of button clicks and wa-la! It should translate into more pics.
Anyway, this weekend […]

A New Look and upgrade

The new theme is to mark the occasion when I finally upgraded the blog to Wordpress 2.0.4.
But the thing that got me to do it was the linking between gallery2 and wordpress with the wordpress gallery2 plugin. Way cool.

Hanging on to my MI roots

I’ve seen this Rebel/Yankee test on the internet several times. I always score 44% Yankee. Today I saw the Advanced Rebel/Yankee test so I tried that out. I scored 22% Dixie. Whew. Michigan hasn’t left me yet.
I’m ashamed to say my children have a bit of a twang at times and they completely lack […]

Project

I (Sly) need to have a long term project going all the time. My last project was losing weight. I’ve been project-less for a year and consequently have felt at loose ends. I tried house decorating but I don’t have an eye for it so I just feel incompetent. The yard and garden have been […]

Its a small world

One of the ministers at our church is the nephew of my college roomate Brenda. Way back in 1988, Brenda’s parents took us out to dinner and her nephew Brad was there although he was probably about 8 years old. I remember he and his brother chasing each other around the table.
Because the church […]

George

Anyone seen the site Where’s George? In a nutshell, you register your $1 bills at the site, write the URL on the back and then see where they end up. Several years ago I got a George bill somewhere and logged on to see where it had been but never followed up on it […]

We made it!

Its Friday so VBS ‘06 is over!
Today’s attendance: 1,330ish
Offering: Over $11,000 for a total giving of nearly $22,000. The money is going to Ethiopia to buy medicines and supplies for missionaries working with CMF International. Princess really signed on to the project and over the week she’s given every cent she had. Today she […]

VBS Day #4

I’m exhausted so here’s the rough numbers:
Attendance: 1,350 or so
Offering: $3,500
I was drafted to snack duty. I’m still reeling from the amounts of food consumed. The primary department alone has 400 kids. Try serving food to 400 kids in 15 minutes. Its mind boggling.
Oddly enough the younger kids are better about cleaning up […]

Mid summer yard and garden

I went out today and took some pictures of the square foot garden and yard.
The garden seems to be behind what I hear other people say about theirs. I think its a couple things. First we got a late start in May because we were in TX. When we got back, we were slowed down […]
