As you know, we’ve had problems with mice recently. I know they are in the garage and usually open the door to the garage with caution.
I looked out into the garage to see if the garage door was shut. My bare foot stepped on something furry and wiggling. Too scared to scream or move, I […]

Thoughts on parenting
Having done this parenting gig for going on 12 years now, I think this quote sums it up pretty well:
“The Bottom line is that raising kids is not for wimps. My wife says it’s a test of your capacity to deal with disorder and unpredictability-a test you can’t study for, and one whose results […]

This is going around over on Homeschoolblogger.com You’re supposed to interview your kids. Here’s what Princess and Chief said:
Here’s Princess:
What are you good at doing? Um helping you clean up things.
If you had ten dollars, how would you spend it? Um, um a Barbie that’s not so ’spensive.
What are you afraid of? The only […]

Its been a crazy day. I started the day with an hour long phone conversation with the WW district manager. She talked. I listened. I gave up taking notes about half way through it. I’m crossing my fingers that the book coming from “corporate” will cover all of it. I’ll start the four week training […]

98
98 degrees is the expected high today. Yes, 98 degrees. As in two degrees from 100. The weather guy said this morning that this is the 24th day of the year with temperatures above 90 degrees. This hasn’t happened since something like 1887.
Hey Leigh remember when Brandon asked why we can’t move to Austin? […]

Why I hate Fifth/Third Bank
An essay by KP.
I have a small installment loan with the 5/3 Bank aka Improper Fraction Bank (or IFB). Just recently we acquired enough money to pay off the loan and I wish to do so.
Today at lunch I stop by the local branch walk in and express my desire to do […]

I did it! I made Lifetime at Weight Watchers tonight. I’m going back on the program tomorrow to lose another 3-5 lbs. That will put me 5-7 lbs under goal. A decent cushion for monthly weigh ins.
Still no word on working for them. I decided I wasn’t going to pursue it any further. If […]

I had this bright idea that the office would be more homeschool friendly if we put three wire shelves in the closet. KP measured and determined that we needed 8×12 shelving. We looked at it yesterday in Home Depot but didn’t buy it because it wouldn’t fit in the car with all four of […]
