Racing Stripes can be summed up this way: its Babe with horses.
I enjoyed Babe but Racing Stripes was just plain dumb. The humor was either lame or crude. The plot was completely predictable. I amused myself by noticing that the stripes on a zebra match up perfectly and wondering if all zebras have the […]

Another one bites the dust

My electric handheld jigsaw bit the dust last night cutting some of the detailwork around the staircase. I’m kind of bummed but It’s the first powertool I ever bought and I used that thing for everything, especially when I didn’t have a circular saw, I would press the jigsaw into service. Not bad […]

We’re starting four week unit on slavery and the Civil War (aka the War of Northern Agression for our southern friends). Since the Ohio River was important to escaping slaves, living here in Cincinnati gives us several opportunities for field trips. The historical homes such as the Rankin, Stowe and Grant homes will have to […]

WW has been a struggle for me lately. Depiste following the program to the letter, I haven’t been losing very well. I had lost 2 lbs in the last six weeks. I went to weigh in tonight and found I was down 2 lbs. I bumped up my cardio time and weights at the gym […]

I added this week’s school reading titles over in the sidebar. Chief wants to watch Caddie Woodlawn rather than read it. I wasn’t quite sure he would enjoy the book anyway so the DVD is a good compromise. For the first time in awhile I added something I’m reading. I picked up “Death Plays House” […]

Choir night for Peanut.

Peanut’s choir ran through their repertoire tonight, she did great. Afterwards there was a cookie and punch party.

Progress Day 2

Got most of the LR done, just a bit near the entryway yet to be done. Will work at the rest over the week in bits or pieces.
Sly swept up many pieces of sawdust.

Today’s Progress

We’re dog tired. Took until 11oclock to layout the first line and make sure we had it right. Also had to face nail it and redo several boards. Once that line was started it went pretty good.
Also knocked off about 4pm to go to church. Came back did a little more […]

Our botany science experiments don’t provide instant gratification. We started two today but won’t see the results for one of them for at least two months. We’re attempting to force a hyacinth bulb. It will be living in the crisper drawer for the next 8 weeks.
Just in case you’re wondering, the food got moved […]

Congratulations Kristy on the adoption of Ian! He’s got an adorable smile.
