Our furnace was cleaned as part of buying this house so today was the first time we’ve ever had anyone out to look at it. We learned we are the proud owners of a builder grade furnace. Oh joy. Its doing just fine but now that I know its a piece of junk I’ll cross […]

Over at Nixguy, KP is talking about shopping at Target vs. Walmart. I was in both stores today and if shopping at Target makes me an elitist, so be it. They’ve got it together. The only thing Walmart has going for it is lower prices. I will admit to really liking Super Walmart but […]

Travels

Some have asked where I’ve been in the past year with my job so I made a map. Green flags are meetings and training, blue is vacations and Red is work. As you can see nothing very exciting or glamorous. Albany, NY and Lincoln, Nebraska are places you can die without seeing, […]

Are you a white or multicolored light person? Lileks discusses the differences in today’s column. Personally I’m a white light person. I think it looks classier.

We set a budget on Christmas spending for each child. I placed an order with Amazon about a month ago and was quite pleased with myself. First that I got the bulk of my shopping done well before Thanksgiving and also that I stayed within my budget.
Today I went to Target to get things […]

We put up the Christmas tree tonight. We’ll do outside decorating tomorrow and a few more things inside too.

We’re back from our Thanksgiving trip to Michigan. On our way up we stopped to see baby Jack. He’s such a cutie! We hope he’ll be ready to travel by Christmas. We then headed on north to Papa and DeeDee’s house.
On Wednesday afternoon, I took the kids out to visit with Grandma and Grandpa […]

Conventional

The packet for my oatmeal this morning had conventional and microwave directions.
The microwave is been around for 30 years now, you would think the microwave would be the conventional directions. who uses the stovetop anymore?
