ACLU employment business
Stone is all tee’d off by the judge in Alabama and the Ten Commandments.
The cynical side of me says that this guy built his whole career around thumbing his nose at the federal government, so why expect him to stop now?
And if he’s relying on a church-state argument he’s probably in trouble.
But KP […]

Creepy Crawlies in the bedroom
and I’m not talking about KP!
I just found a tiny lizard of some sort crawling down the corner wall in the bedroom. KP and offspring thought it very cool but I was less impressed. They released it back outside.
Hey Lori, it was small (about 1 1/2 inches long), nearly transparent but it was against […]

Quiet apartment day
Chief woke up with a stomach ache. He’s complained of this on and off since we got here. I decided we would have a quiet day and just hang out here. By noon he was fine so I think the complaint was an effort to get out of schoolwork…it didn’t work. Bwwwhaahaa(that’s my evil homeschool […]

San Antonio tomorrow
We’re heading to San Antonio in the morning. We’re planning to see the Alamo, the San Antonio Missions Nat’l Park and the River Walk. Anything more than that would be too hard in the heat.

Zilker Park
We visited Zilker park this afternoon. We saw the “Splash” exhibit and the kids played on the Playscape for awhile. When they were good and sweaty, we brought them back to the apartment pool. We thought about swimming at Zilker but it was crowded. The apartment pools are always deserted and today was no exception.

Lunch adventure
We found a unique sounding restaurant on line while looking for someplace to eat downtown. It is Iron Works B-bque–located in a former iron works shop. What we didn’t know is the building isn’t air conditioned. We considered leaving but decided to make it an adventure…its 97 today. It was actually quite comfortable eating on […]

Things I’ve learned about Texas
I’m betting they don’t sell very many black car seats here. I’ll be covering the seat with a towel from now on.
Leaving sun glasses on the seat of the car in full sun isn’t smart. I think I heard the skin on my nose sizzle.
